Application
The reporter negative control lentivirus is useful for determining background reporter activity when it is used with one of the TF Reporter lentivirus products. For TF reporters that show strong basal activity (i.e. without any stimulation), the negative control can be used to confirm the activity is specific to the presence of response elements in the construct. For TF reporters that show weak activation under your particular conditions, the negative control can help to confirm that the reporter signal is pathway specific weak activation and not an off-target effect. The negative control contains all the components of the regular TF reporters construct except for the response elements that otherwise drive signal pathway specific reporter expression.
