Application
Genetically encoded Ca2+ indicator (GECI) can be used for recording the cytosolic Ca2+ in Ca2+-sensitive cells of living mammals.
The neuron-specific promoter human synuclein (Syn) driven JGCaMP7b or Red-shift JYCaMP1s calcium sensor can
be used for recording calcium signaling of neuronal cells in vitro. CMV promoter-driven GECIs enable measurement of
cytosolic Ca2+ in cardiac myocyte and kidney cells in real time. Potential other applications could include infecting
brain cortex neurons to interrogate the neuron activity in vivo. The drug selection marker (puromycin or blasticidin)
provides a convenient tool to establish stable cell lines.
